PERMANENT POSITIONS
This Vacancy is open to External Applicants AND Employees of the City of Johannesburg
Department: Private Office of the Executive Mayor
Branch: Office of the MMC’s
Designation: Chief Specialist: Community and Stakeholder Management
Salary Range: R39 055.92 (basic salary excluding benefits)

Appointment Requirements:

• Grade 12 with Degree Customer Relations/ Marketing/ Public Relations/ Communications
or Journalism or (NQF Level 7)
• Suitably qualified candidate as defined by section 20(3) of the Employment Equity Act will
be considered;
• 5-7 years relevant/ related experience at a senior practitioner level
Primary Function: To lead and manage communications and stakeholder engagement and liaison,
including the provision of high quality and responsive information for all stakeholders, and develops
approaches to engagement, collaboration, and innovation that create improved value for the City/
Region and its stakeholders.

Key Performance Areas: To render an efficient and effective stakeholder engagement
management and liaison service in the designated region. Perform specific tasks/ activities
associated with the provision of internal/external communication services. Provide marketing
support. Performs specific tasks/ activities associated with provision of effective and efficient
Stakeholder Management and Liaison. Conduct planning and development activities. Optimise
processes for efficiency. Management of assets entrusted into specialized area. Conduct
governance and risk activities. Monitor and report on work/ projects achieved.

and guidance; information gathering; Change Management; High level of confidentiality and
Organisational skills
