At DHL Supply Chain South Africa we’re looking for


Job Purpose:                   

To ensure shipments are planned, received and completed on time with a zero % upcharge, by completing daily/weekly/monthly operational tasks fulfilling operational needs and customer’s requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • To be the single point of contact for P&G and local DHL CT team for his /her area of responsibility
  • To perform daily operational task on a routine and prioritized basis
  • To take ownership of his/her area of responsibility with excellent follow-up
  • To track shipments closely and to spot any possible issues and to take necessary actions by informing the necessary contacts
  • To take necessary actions to prevent any upcharge that may occur internally or due to 3rd Parties
  • To seek cost avoidance opportunities through supply chain and to initiate and finalise
  • To understand and fulfil customer’s needs and to deliver solutions for area’s of responsibility
  • To track incoming shipments via port and liners and customers release from customer broker
  • To monitor port status and inform related teams for possible delays or interruptions
  • To align with materials Planner on critical run out to avoid plant shut down at all times
  • To communicate with plant warehouse team continuously to maintain changes of deliveries
  • To track daily container movements and update DHL tracking system in a timely manner
  • To resolve daily issues with transporter, escalate on time if necessary (late deliveries, damages, missing information
  • To keep records of all kind of critical communications such as e-mails, reports, documentation and archives’
  • To audit 3rd Party invoices in a timely manner and keep records for approved, rejected and corrected invoice
  • To update files for upcharges, cost saving, received and posted invoices, completed shipments
  • To ensure daily reports are shared with relevant parties in a timely manner

  • Budget Management and cost controls
  • Transport Operation Management
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a pressurized environment
  • 5+ years in Logistics/Planning
