As a Payroll and Tax Specialist you will be responsible for payroll data preparation, processing, validation and ensuring consistency in accuracy of data in accordance with BMW Group and legislative guidelines (concerning Payroll and Tax).
Supporting process and service delivery improvements.
Optimization of performance, efficiency and effectiveness.
Investigate, analyse and provide feedback on all Payroll management allocated tickets via Advise HR Cloud.
Address and resolve employee complaints relating to payroll.
Close tickets allocated on HR Cloud
Perform monthly payroll reporting as required by business units.
Monitor, identify and investigate any potential variances during pay runs i.e. PHI associates with inconsistent benefits and allowances, excessive salary increases from month to month.
Ensure Service provider receives correct information timeously.
Ensure that all necessary documents and approvals have been received and information is accurately entered into Payroll system.
Process payroll changes for employees in the organization.
Processing of approved advances and out of cycle payments.
Processing of bulk uploads of additional payments
Processing and validate specific HR payroll transactions e.g. collect and review payroll data, payroll calculations, Variance Reports, GL, etc.
Performing detailed analysis and payroll data preparation for the resolution of payroll related problems and for management reporting, audits or forecasting.
Act as Trainer for relevant processes (Payroll).
Supporting on relevant activities in regard to IT new requirements as well as processes (documentation, testing).
Application of tax directives on e-filing.
GL Posting investigations & reconciliations.
EMP201 Completion & Easy filing for BMW SA (EMP501).
Prepare UIF Declarations & Submissions.
Support Fleet reconciliations.
Print and make payslip and time statements available for distribution.
Bulk printing and distribution of IRP5s.
Supply all information and explanations required for any of the following audits:
SA Internal Audit, AG Internal Audit
External Interim Audit, External Year-end Audit
SARS audit, SARS PAYE audit
DOL Audits and submissions
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum a bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration
Minimum 4 years of experience in payroll administration and statutory background (Desirable 2 year SAP-HR background)
Knowledge of Taxation with regard to Employees tax (including expat payroll). Tax qualification would be advantageous.
Experience working in payroll or a similar role.
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices. Ability to analyze issues quickly by making use of analytic capability thinking.
